Do you have Google Classroom or anything similar to that? I suggest using the computers for short videos, research, Google Earth, or webquest. I use something called Blendspace. I would compile a list of resources such as kid-friendly websites, videos, images, or texts on a certain topic. Then, students would look through the resources and take notes on them to gather background information or research a topic. You can have a two students use Blendspace when you're trying to introduce a topic or want to enhance their understanding of a topic. I also created worksheets for students to complete while they are on the computer.

Sixth grade social studies! I have two student desktop computers in my room this year. Any ideas how to utilize them effectively?
