I am also moving to a 6th grade ELA Special Ed/Resource Teacher. I've been teaching over 20 years PreK-3rd grade. I am looking forward to the challenge and ideas. I will be collaborating with my co-teacher, but want to have some ideas to contribute. So please share your favorites. thanks

Many, but not all, students this age seem to process thoughts with their mouths open. They DO need to talk, but you'll get them further along if you carefully plan why, when, and how they talk.
