6th graders with very little grammar exposure would probably do well with mentor sentences the way Ideas by Jivey structures them.

I also sort of like EZ Grammar by Wanda something - I like the way it explains things and the order in which concepts are taught, but it's basically worksheet drills so I don't use all the worksheets and I don't have it as my sole resource.

I read that it's best to teach grammar within the kids' writing rather than in isolation. I have a McDougal-Littell grammar book that I use on occasion, though. We also are utilizing Moby Max and No Red Ink this year.

Daily oral language may be a good start.

Look at Caught'ya Grammar, Giggles in the Middle. It's an unusual way of teaching grammar, but the kids like it. I've used it for several years, but have adapted it for how I teach.

IXL also has a grammar component. Our school has purchased it for us next year. We had a free trial for almost the entire second semester. Some was hard, but it does have a lot of grammrd skills.

Pm me if you have specific questions about either

Does anyone have some recommendations for a grammar curriculum? My 6th graders have had very little exposure, so starting with a middle school curriculum may not be the best option.
