I am teaching 5th grade science this year too! I moved from 4th grade, all subjects to just 5th grade science. I am so excited. Check out https://betterlesson.com/. It has a lot of great lessons by teachers. They organize their lessons into units. If you come across anything else, please let me know.

Several years ago I moved from many years in 1st grade to 5th and 6th grade science. Science is so much fun! I always start the year off with a cool demo lab to get them excited. I use a science notebook (composition) for everything. We take notes, write definitions, draw diagrams, attach graphs...everything goes in the notebook. Science penguin is great!!

Last year I moved to 5th grade math/science from 2nd. Next year Iíll be teaching just science! Some of the resources I use are

Mystery Science (itís subscription based, but the first year is free I think- Iíve been using it for 2 years free, I just donít get some of the features)

Generations Genius- my kiddos LOVED this! (Subscription)

Crash Course Kids- YouTube videos. They have a resource on TPT that will give ad free videos and Kahoot! Quizzes

TPT- The Science Penguin is fabulous!

This summer Iím working on pacing and creating a hyper doc for all of my lessons. Iím including as much hands on as I possibly can.

This is a GREAT website for science! It's also free! Another site that is good but supposedly free only for the first year is mysteryscience.com. Plus there are lots of cool videos to show the kiddos to get them thinking/excited about science.

Here's a good one:

Good luck! 5th grade is the BEST!
