voice lesson??

I would like some input on a lesson for teaching voice for my final observation. I am planning on reading a picture book and discussing voice with the class. Then I would give each group a picture and each person would have to pick a person in the picture and write a paragraph or two about that person as if they were them. After a few people sharing their paragraphs, we would look back at our own writing and add voice to it. Let me know what you think, or if you have some better ideas. This is for a 5th grade class.
Thanks :)

hmmm

I'm a bit confused. It sounds more like you are doing a lesson on perspective, not voice.

When you way they look back at their own writing and add voice, how were you going to teach them to do that?
