How much would you pay for a handknit Am gr doll outfit?
My friend made pants, sweater, hat, mittens and skates. Not sure what to offer her for it or ask her as a bottom offer? She is asking more than I want to pay. Love your thoughts. :)

Sadly, I'd not pay much.

Sorry but those things aren't usually that popular with little girls who would rather have either a modern (soccer, dance, etc.) outfit or a historical outfit.

I realize that the yarn (and buttons, etc.) cost money and that her time is worth something, but it's hard to pay lots for something that not many people want.

Sorry if this is blunt. I've got three daughters who all have had Goetz dolls (same size as American Girl, and Goetz was the original maker before Mattel started making them instead) and my girls preferred the outfits in the catalog or special ones off ebay (a snow skiing outfit, a fancy holiday dress).

I'd probably pay what she's asking. Then if I really thought it was too much, I wouldn't buy the clothes from her again. I make cookies and cupcakes and I know some people think my prices are expensive, but it's a lot of work, time, and my own money for ingredients. I make very little for my time.

I just sold a bunch of AG doll clothing
that was NOT handmade, and people paid up to $35 for one outfit! Lots of folks collect AG dolls and clothing. She will get her price from someone.

My daughter picked out an outfit today that included a pair of cute jean pants, a sweater and t shirt for her bitty baby. All three items was 20.00

I agree with AD.
Most people do not want to pay the price a handmade "anything" generates.
The other question I have is how did this deal originate?
Did your friend make this per your request or does she have a box of things she has made "on spec" and you simply selected from her stock?
If it was a special order I think you need to pay the requested fee.
