Interested in Teaching but .. so many questions!

I'm very new to the teaching world and I just have absolutely no idea where to start. If anyone could point me in some general directions that would be very appreciated. I am wanting to teach high school, mostly Econ/Gov, along with US History. Is there specific degrees for those subjects? Is it rare to find those positions open? Should I be getting a finance degree to go along with a teaching degree? please help with any advice or information.

It depends on your local area whether they're hurting to find teachers or it's saturated and difficult to find a job.

The best thing to do is contact local colleges to learn about the teacher education programs they offer. Make an appointment to see an advisor there if possible; that's how I figured out my options and what I needed to do. I didn't have to be a student or pay anyone at the college to speak with an advisor.

Hope this helps.
