Textbook Question (common core)
I am going to a math textbook adoption workshop on Monday, and was wondering what series some of you use that does a good job teaching common core standards.
Any that you've found that I need to steer clear of and why would also help me greatly! TIA! H:) |
New Math
We just started using Pearson Success Net this year. It is alligned to the common core .While it has been challenging this year, I think it does a good job in getting the students to write about and explain their math thinking. Some topics such as place value and fractions move much too quickly(Grade 3) . It is weak in math facts and computation so we need to add additional practice.
Good luck in your search! |
textbook adoption
Our district is using common core standards and we just adopted Investigations by Pearson. It is an adaptation of lessons to add or delete for common core. We will use it for the first time next year. We have Pearson Reading Street for language arts and I enjoy it so I have high hopes for math:)
