Taking time off between college graduation and starting teaching??
 

Hello!

I'm currently in my last week of student teaching and will be graduating with an ADED degree in 3 weeks. I LOVE teaching and am very passionate about it, but think I may be better suited for a law career. I'm already enrolled at a law school, but on the off chance I decide law isn't for me, I want to keep my options open with teaching.

Do schools look down upon applicants who have taken years off between college and beginning teaching? Will I get "out of practice" with time off? How can I keep up being passionate about teaching when I'm not doing it? Any advice helps!!

Don’t take time off. Try to get a job. I sub. Never really got that real job. So try to get the real job. Schools will pass you over.

Do the student teaching. You can take time off after that or go back to school. You are too advanced to quit, even if you decide not to teach.
