Tension environment

This is my second year subbing in this district and the environment at some of the schools seem different more tension not as welcoming
Are any of you picking up this where you sub ??

Yes....

One of the schools I have covered for many years has become very tense. Teachers donít eat in the staff lounge any more, everyone just seems kind of snarky. This has been going on for the past 2 years. Not sure what to think. I just do my job and move on.

That's what good about subbing especially Day to Day and going to different schools.
Maybe teachers are under a lot more stress and worried about the schools safety issues.
I'm still sensing a difference at schools:(

Yes here too

I've noticed a big change this fall. I sub in elementary schools, and see more of the students' adult family members hovering around, sometimes being very intrusive and overbearing. Schools seem to be more closely vetting and monitoring subs. There's just a general air of tension and distrust.

Yes! I have noticed!

I was just mentioning that to a fellow sub at lunch. I have been subbing in this district for about 5 years. This middle school was the best place to sub because the students were so engaged and polite (for the most part). I have noticed in the last 2 years, the behavior has changed for the worse. There are more incidents of disrespect and general meanness. I don't know what has happened, but I used to love subbing at this particular school. Not so much anymore. The other sub said she had noticed it too!
