Chimes or bells on the door can help you know it is being opened and with a smaller child you may be able to get there in time! I assume this is special ed and if so you should have other adults in the room - make sure someone is always aware and watching for a possible escape. Good luck!

Spit Masks
 
I know this is a very old post, but it caught my eye. I'm sure you have already found a solution to the problem. The post reminded me of some of the patients in the hospital that had spit masks put on them. They hated it!:eek:

Doubt this would be allowed in the schools...lol Probably should be though!
