new teacher interviews?

I am wondering what everyone's experience was for getting an interview as a new teacher in a new school district? I submitted my application end of May and heard back from HR about two weeks ago regarding licensure but then have not received anything since then... Do some school districts wait out until late July to begin interviewing? I am in southeastern end of the Virginia Peninsula.

It all just depends on the district

I live in western PA, and some schools seem to have their hiring done by end of June while others don’t start until August. There are always a few jobs posted late in the summer as teachers shuffle around to different schools and some districts realize they will need more teachers due to overcrowding.

Edited to add: when the interviews start is not always dependent on when the application is due. I remember an interview with one school where the application was due in April but interviews didn’t start until mid-July.
