Any updates as to what interventionists and coaches will be doing?
I am awaiting instructions from my school district but don't know if my position will change whether we go in online or we go in person. I know a lot of concerns of going in person people the problem with large class sizes. Online has its own set of issues.

I have a lot of questions and concerns, but we are still waiting for a plan from our district as far as online or in person. I'm also hoping to remain in this position and not get pushed back into a regular classroom.

I get that
The parents have gotten some general news last week. We will be doing a hybrid model and clases will be divided in half. I don't know if reading personnel are going to go back to the classroom. If I do I am fine with that since it is an emergency situtation but only if I get told early enough so I can plan . If it is last minute I will be furious.

We are going to start the year with distance learning. I heard through a friend who is on the curriculum planning team that I will be pulling groups for intervention, but I have no idea what that will look like yet. I have a meeting a week from Monday with my district supervisor. Hoping that some things will be finalized by then.

still don't know
My district has decided to start the year 100% remote. Our first day of school is September 1st and I still have no idea what my job (reading specialist & instructional coach) will look like. There is also nothing outlined yet for how district required K-5 reading assessments will be handled for fall with everyone remote. Teachers don't know yet if we are going to be required to work from school, work from home, or given a choice. Basically, beyond deciding on the remote start and a district required LMS system for continuity, nothing is decided yet and nothing has been shared with teachers. We've been finding out info by watching Zoom school board meetings (where no public comment is allowed) just like the parents. In fact, when discussing hybrid models, some of the models included cancelling specials and moving specialists to classroom positions, and those teachers found out while watching the board meeting that they may be reassigned. It's been a communication nightmare. In the meantime, I'm not doing much in terms of planning other than collecting up resources and ideas, because I refuse to waste time and energy working on a plan with so many things still up in the air.

We know absolutely nothing. Teachers go back on the 17th. Officially 1 week left of summer. Going to try not to stress over things I cannot control.

I'm a sped teacher. My P had an idea to split grade levels between me, the other sped teacher, and our two interventionists so that we could do true cohorts. In my building, the cohorts are K, 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, and 5th-6th. Each of us will only be seeing students from one of those cohorts.

For example, one of our interventionists will be in the 3rd-4th cohort. She will see small groups only within those two grade levels, including meeting IEP minutes (allowed under ESSA) for students in those grade levels. A sped teacher will still be the case manager and have to do all of the paperwork and meetings, but the interventionists will be providing the services in their grade levels. Each cohort also has only 1 specials teacher per quarter. So in my cohort, we currently have the art teacher. The students will go to art every single day for the first quarter, and then the specialists will rotate and they'll get music for the 2nd quarter.

Our coach was pulled to be an admin in the e-learning school. I suspect that had she stayed, there wouldn't be much she could do anyway. I think observing and giving feedback would be out, because that would involve cross-contamination of cohorts if one coach is visiting classrooms K-6. We won't be having PLCs or data teams this year. She also ran our MTSS team, which they've now put on the school psych (that's fishy to me, but that's not what this post is about). I suspect had she stayed in the building she'd be doing a whole lot of things like cleaning, temperature checks, bathroom breaks for kids, etc.
