parent reading night

I'm suppose to give a 45 minute presentation to parents about how to help their child with reading. Any ideas for 2nd-4th grade?

Parent Night

I can't remember where I read this, but recently I heard that just because your child is older and a more fluent/independent reader doesn't mean you should stop reading TO them. It is a great way to work on more in-depth comprehension--having conversations about what you read together. That's one idea. Sorry I can't think of any more.

parent night

We're going to do a make/take type night. We are going to model how to use comprehension questions with their child, how to read with their child, and how to practice the times tables. I teach 4th grade and we are still working on laying out our evening. I think we need to model for the parents as we have many who are in need.
