So I am teaching 2 grade DL this year. This is also my first year as a classroom teacher. I have been thinking of some fun ideas for bulletin boards but I cannot think of any. I need them cute but easy to assemble. I'd appreciate any ideas!!!

BB about you
 

Do you have a photo of yourself in second grade? A picture of your second grade teacher? I think the kids and parents really enjoy a BB about the teacher at the beginning of the year. And they will love seeing what you looked like as a child. Share a family photo as well. Write a bio poem about yourself. I will attach instructions. Add some things to show your interests. I used a book cover of an educational book I enjoyed reading. I also put up some post cards from recent travel destinations. You could also create a timeline of your life events. You can also do a poster about me of yourself. Maybe it could be one the students do as well. This could be used year after year!

Student Work
 

Make one for student work to use all year. Choose a color scheme and cover board and add a border. Then laminate some colorful paper that will be slightly bigger than the paper students write on. You need one for each student. Mount on BB. Add a large colorful paper clip so you can change out the assignment you are showing off every few weeks. Leave space for writing a title that fits each display as it changes. Hope that makes sense.

Do you have a small BB
 

I made one of my small ones an FYI board. It included the school calendar, school song, school mascot, school's monthly menu from the cafeteria, current events for school like a poster about the school carnival or the selling of Val -o -grams for Valentine's day. It was for anything that might be helpful information. I always put extra forms there as well like for field trips so if one was lost we just got it from the For Your Information board.
