It seems that most people have The First Six Weeks and The Morning Meeting Book. Which would you rather read and discuss? Put your vote here. :)

Morning meeting sounds great to me too!

However I would like the other one too ;-)

I'd be in for The Morning Meeting Book too.

a few people on the other post wanted

First 6 weeks because school is starting up again. I think both would be very appropriate!

Morning Meeting

I ordered The Morning Meeting, The First Six Weeks of School, and Teaching Children to Care at the beginning of the summer. But, I've been in grad school classes and haven't had time to read them!!

School starts in less than 3 weeks, so I started reading The Morning Meeting book last night in hopes that I can finish it fast and get started on The First Six Weeks before school starts!

I'd love a book study!

should we decide so that those who need it

can get it ordered? My local Barnes and noble is out of stock but I can get it online!

I'd love to do Teaching Children to Care because it has AlOT of "meat". But if it's between the other two, I'd say The First Six Weeks because I really want to get a handle on how to get the year started right.

Teaching children to care

looks REALLY good too! Unfortunately it doesn't seem that children come to us with this as naturally as they used to!

happygirl444 07-27-2010 04:18 PM

I guess we could do them in conjunction. Since greeting is one of the first parts we intro during MM, we could read the chapter in the First Six Weeks AND the greeting chapter in Morning Meeting. Does that work?

How about we post once a week?

1steduc8or 07-27-2010 04:24 PM

so would be be using both books?

I am game for that! This is so exciting. I love watching the interest for this grow!

Morning meeting

I'd participate in either but I really need to absorb the structure, purpose and spirit of the morning meeting. It sounds pivotal.

stretchberry 07-27-2010 05:54 PM

I have both books and am game for either/both. :)

rSquirrel 07-27-2010 08:29 PM

who is the author of Teaching Children to Care.....would you guys recommend it??

and yes lets start reading!

cateach1st 07-28-2010 05:14 AM

yes!

Count me in! I would love to do The First Six Weeks and discuss MM in with that as well! I am soooo excited! Let's start soon! My students come in three weeks and I want to be sure and start the right way! : )
Thanks for such a great idea!
Cindy
