Brain/Body Breaks 4th Grade

I currently use D5 in 3rd grade, but I am moving up to 4th next year. We currently do dancing motor breaks between rounds (Chicken Dance, Limbo, etc.), but I can tell they are starting to feel "too old" for that. Any ideas for brain/body breaks in the upper grades?

I'm especially curious to see if any folks do yoga...

I found a website!

Your post got me started thinking! I googled brain and body breaks for 3rd grade and found a blog with some really good ideas using "activity sticks."

The name of the blog is KEEP CALM AND TEACH ON

Of course one good thing just leads to another . . . You will find lots of other classroom blogs with tons of great ideas!

Responsive Classroom

You might find some good ideas if you look up the responsive classroom page on YouTube and then search for Energizers. There's a book with activities for a wide range of ages if you like what you see on line.

Wow!

Thank you for the great ideas!
