Mother's Day

Hi. I'm looking for an easy but great Mother's Day project. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

I too, was just going to post something similar to this. I have an hour and a half block of time where I have my homeroom kids in my classroom next week that I thought would be a great time to do a project for Mother's Day. I definitely need something quick and easy!

Fingerprint Stationary

An easy, inexpensive activity that I have done with my 4th graders is to make stationary for their mom's. I make copies of a couple pages from Ed Emberly's Fingerprint Drawing book to give the kids ideas. Then using stamp pads they create their own fingerprint drawings and backgrounds on the front of the stationary*. I give each student 6 cards to make, then tie them with ribbon to give to their mom.

*The stationary is just white card stock cut in half, then folded.

mother's day

I'm going to do a project I found on here a few years ago.

I'll get some ceramic tiles from Home Depot. The ones that are maybe 5 inches or so on each side. One for each kid. The kids can draw and write on them using colored sharpies. Then just spray it with a clear coat of sealant stuff. I can't remember exactly what it was called right now.

The tiles are fairly inexpensive and one can of spray is plenty for my class. It makes a great personalized keepsake. I did it with my 2nd graders a couple of years ago and they loved it.
