cinnamon to lower blood sugar
I've head that cinnamon is good to lower blood sugar levels. How much should you be taking daily?

The studies are inconclusive...
I tried taking two capsules each night but I did not see any difference in my glucose levels. An article I read said it was not a good idea to try to swallow 1/2 tsp of raw cinnamon. However, I do see a difference with taking 2 capsules of green tea extract each night. If I don't take the green tea extract my glucose level tends to run about 128; with it my glucose level is usually under 120. I also tried coconut oil which was effective at first but my body seemed to become immune to the effects of the co after a couple of months.

I'm not sure what doctors would recommend, but when my mom started using cinnamon to help lower her blood suguar levels she would sprinkle some in her cereal every morning.

She noticed a difference, but I'm not sure how long it took.

Have you read Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes: The Scientifically Proven System for Reversing Diabetes Without Drugs (2007)?

Dr. Andrew Weil calls Dr. Barnard "One of the most responsible and authoritative voices in American medicine today."

DH tried it- between it and watching his diet a little closer his sugar seemed to trend a few points lower (like 230 instead of 275), but not nearly enough. I really think it was him watching the diet.

(Long story, but doc took him off meds. He checked it one day, it was 283, had to wait 2 weeks to get in to doc. Cinnamon was used during those 2 weeks)
