Sorry, somehow it wouldn't let me divide it into two posts. Lengthy.
https://edd.ca.gov/About_EDD/pdf/news-21-02.pdf My status has not changed. I still see the Re-open New Claim instructions on my screen, no email or mail received. I'm waiting this out. Hoping. <!--pinkbutterfly--> |
Nice Saturday surprise. :)
This morning, I no longer had the Re-open Claim message, system let me certify as usual. Questions were the same as prior certifications. Pay includes the weekly $300. I still have a balance though, same benefit year end date. Guessing update is not complete. Hoping all of you see updates reflected on your end and able to certify today/soon! <!--pinkbutterfly--> |
Same as sweetsun.
|
My account had gotten to zero in December. I have a new balance that looks like 11 weeks worth and it looks like the $300 will kick in also. Very helpful.

After having the Re-Open claim on claim on my screen for a couple of wks, It disappeared on its own & the EDD God's let me certify for those 3 weeks:
They payed me a couple of days later, included was the $300 weekly, zero balance thereafter, That was the last of my PEUC, but... Now I am stuck with a screen that says Maximum Paid Benefits exhausted for this benefit year. I'm staying put- again- until it gets figured out. Will my claim advance to FED-ED or remain on PEUC? Don't know. <!--pinkbutterfly--> I hope you ladies and everyone else are able to certify and get paid- The 11 wks added is hopeful- I guess they are advancing in batches. :) |
Mine is still 'pending' for the three weeks. No communication whatsoever. EDD CA is so screwed up. They lose millions to crooks/fraudsters and the regular people get punished. Terrible!
|
All of this is very frustrating, and I hope both of you get paid soon. All we can do is wait this out. Found this:
EDD NewsRoom release January 21, 2021 A) 1099G federal tax forms Form 1099s are being sent through the mail throughout the rest of January for those who did not opt-in for an electronic copy only. What is a 1099G? https://edd.ca.gov/unemployment/pdf/...info-sheet.pdf Quote:

All Subs should Also get the PUA
I recently contacted my legislators (CA) that the entire system has been dependent on substitute teachers the past year and we make poverty wages anyway and they are denying us PUA after a full week of subbing which is just wrong. If you sub fulltime, you make something to the tune of $2000/month if you are lucky. This is $24,000/year! We're subbing during the pandemic. We are the teachers during the pandemic and we should also be getting the PUA in addition to our pathetic pay. So you should not be penalized or stripped of your PUA as a full-time sub. Every substitute teacher in this nation should also be getting the PUA in addition to any sub pay. We're risking our lives with every classroom we walk in to. Feel free to contact your legislators as well.
Thank you.<!--grumpy--> |
