Purple ideas....

I want lots of purple in my room this year! I've been doing a jungle/safari theme for the past few years, but I want my favorite color to be the main thing. What kind of theme goes with purple? I am going to have purple bulletin boards, and try to have purple accents around. But what about a theme? My coworker uses purple and teal in circle shapes around her room. I know I really don't have to use a theme, but I'm trying to think of something that I can focus on using that color. Thoughts?

Purple

I am lucky to have been able to paint my classroom, so yes! it is purple and silver grey. I have 1 wall that is 4 shades of purple:)
I have the other walls that are a silver grey, very light.
My bulletin boards are covered in black paper with different variations of circles for borders.
So, I don't really have a theme that is a color so to say, but I love my room

How about "It's going to be a GRAPE year"?

Purple is a royal color

King and queen theme, castle, many ideas you could do with royalty as an accent.

What comes to mind for me is a large purple octopus if you would like to incorporate the colors of blue and purple in your room. The arms could be 8 long chains to give it a 3-D effect. It could read " I'm a Sucker for Learning." You could add some jelly fish and fill those translucent disposable shower caps with purple paper and the fronds could be curled ribbon. Orange and yellow coral or fish might make the purple pop a bit too. Sorry if I got carried away.

Also I thought of perhaps a peacock theme. . .here is a link from tpt for this theme. It's an edible file too.

Peacocks were my first thought too.

luvtulearn,

Thanks for your ideas! Yes you did get a little carried away lol! ;)I'm not really feeling the octopus though. Thanks again!

knit1purl2,

I like that idea! I'm in a Christian school, so I could tie in our King Jesus also. Hmm...I'll be thinking about this! Thanks!

First thought

Purple is the color of peace. So you could tie that in for a nice peaceful classroom!

Noticed your avatar

is animal themed. Isn't there a poem about a purple cow?? Maybe there are other purple poems as well.

Same here!

I am doing purple, black and silver in my room which matches "Nightmare Before Christmas" colors!

Thanks! I didn't know that purple was the color of peace! Yay! Might stick that in my reading area!

I'll have to search that one out. Never heard of a poem about a purple cow! Thanks:)

JackandSally,

Those colors sound pretty! I am thinking of purple, green, and silver I think, cause I want a purple and silver Christmas tree!

Poem

I never seen a purple cow
I never hope to see one
But I can tell you anyhow
I'd rather see than be one! <!--giggle-->

First thing

That came to my mind was a Purple People Eater! (But depending on what age you teach it might be scary for little ones)

Now I have an ear worm playing in my head! One-eyed one horse blind purple people eater!<!--eyebrow-->
