District only online/unemployment

Does anyone know if we are still able to collect unemployment while schools are online for the fall semester? My district will not be having any in class instruction when the school year starts. I'm still not sure if subs will be needed for the beginning of the school year.

I

I would not bother contacting anybody or rocking the boat, I believe that we will be able to continue on unemployment until we actually have jobs to go back to or until our unemployment actually runs out including the 13 week federal extension that is in place as of right now.

Yes, cc96

That's what I was thinking too. As long as I can continue to certify for benefits, then that's what I will do.

They stopped my payment because of the summer and I had an adjudicator review my case. When I told her there was no guarantee of work in the letters they send out every year( in that they were always worded the same and hadnít addressed covid), she used that in part of her reason to rule in my favor. I supposed they could go back and send out another letter to us changing the wording, but I think they will just let us keep collecting.

Happy for you

So nice that subs in CA are getting unemployment!

I live in SC. I applied back in March. Filled out the
L-O-N-G application online, printed it out. Last page said my application had successfully been submitted. Never heard back one way or another. Not even a rejection. :-(
Unemployment offices are not open, so nowhere to show up in person to inquire. Seems like a dead end.
