Economic Activities for 7th grade?
Anyone have any fun, interesting activities for economics in general for 7th grade?
This is my first year and I'm really not sure how to teach 12 year olds economics. Appreciate any help or ideas! |
Playdough Economics
I bought this book years ago to teach economics in my third grade classroom. I can only use the first 4 or 5 lessons as they get too difficult for students.
It is my understanding you can download the book from online now. I do not have that link. This hands on style of learning is fun and helpful in understanding the concepts. |
Thanks so much! I'll look into it!

need an ERIC number...
It's not directly available, you have to order it. It is free, though, just not an immediate download. You'll need an ERIC number - ED315359. Good luck!

economics to lower grades
I took a class several years ago called Mini Society. Kids learned about currency, made currency for our class, got to "earn" money (or lose it), then had to create and sell a product. We had a simulated "market" day where they got to shop and buy their class members' products using this fake currency they'd earned. Overall, it was a great lesson on economics that was truly hands-on rather than theory-based.
