Math facts app

Hi!, I will be tutoring a new second grade student that is presently struggling in math (through a community project that helps homeless families become self sufficient).

When I taught second grade four years ago there were some fun math apps that worked on basic math facts.

With the one in mind, there was a free version and then of course a for pay version. I thought the name was called Math Blasters, but when I checked it out online that was not the game.

Basically a sum number like 10 would be in the center of the screen while other numbers were floating around. The idea was to zap the six and the four to make 10, the five and the five to make 10, etc. it was a fun game to practice and attain mastery of math facts.

If this game still exists I would sure love to know the name of it. If there are any others that you can think of please feel free to share.

The girl is attending school in the best school district in our state so each child has a netbook that they bring home with them.

TIA

Not game format but my students use xtra math and freckle online. I like that they are short, timed practice. Both are free.

We use Freckle.

Thank you

For the online programs!

also, FYI, I do not LOVE Freckle. It has this dumb "store" where kids dress a bear or something? They don't get it and neither do I.

And, after answering 10 questions, they get booted back to the dashboard where they have to choose math and then from 2 different math choices. It's confusing for my Kinders.

Sushi Monster is a free app that my second graders enjoy.
