What is the difference between resource & intervention?

I've heard of both positions with my county- Resource teacher and also Intervention. What is the difference between the two? Thank you!

Resource and Intervention

In my district, resource is math, reading, writing, etc., and sometimes special ed is also referred to as resource.

Intervention works with RtI students.

In my experience,

Resource is another name for a SpEd classes and Intervention is a General Ed initiative.

Interventions that are research based and well documented may lead to a SpEd referral. The line definitely blurs in a lot of schools--the structure, lessons and set ups are similar too.

In my area resource is a special education pull out class and intervention is for general education struggling students. Interventions can either be completed in class by the general education teacher or in a pull out setting with a title 1 teacher or reading/math specialist.

Like a pp said, the services look remarkably similar in the schools I've been in. Really the only difference between my resource groups and the title 1 teacher's intervention groups are that my students have IEPs and hers don't. If students aren't successful in her group that data will be used to push them through the RtI process so they can get a formal IEP. The sad thing is that so many gen ed teachers push so hard for IEPs because they somehow think I have some "magic strategies" that I'm using with my students that the title 1 teacher is not using. Often times, the students were really better off in the title 1 groups as they tend to be smaller, can sometimes meet for more time than my groups can, and the title teacher won't take on students with severe behavior issues that would disrupt the learning of the rest of the group.

Resource teacher

In my district they are the same. I am a resource teacher who sees general ed students who are behind in a core subject area.
