What To Buy With My Classroom Budget
I'm an incoming first-year teacher who will be teaching 3rd-5th grade science/writing. Each teacher at my school gets $100 to spend on their classroom every year. Any suggestions on how to make use of this budget?

First, find out what the school supplies you and what the kids are bringing. Then, look at your curriculum and decide how you want to teach it. Finally, make sure you have the supplies you need for how you want to teach. Good luck and enjoy your first year!

Beyond basic supplies you might need, when I start in a new position I try to hang on to my classroom $ until I get into a routine and can see what would help most. Usually I go towards organization - color coded shelves for collecting work for each class, supply tubs to make it easier for groups to get their lesson supplies, etc.

Throw away items
I reserve my classroom budget for consumables. This way when I buy things out of pocket, and it's way more than my classroom budget, I still have something tangible to take with me if I choose.

That may sound's early, my brain isn't fully functioning yet.

So here's a quick breakdown.

School money=paper, cardstock, paint, glue, pencils, stickers, sticker charts, etc that get used and are gone.

My money= decor, storage, manipulatives, games, etc.
