Grade 4 Music - Help
 

I'm also teaching Music to my group for the next 4 months ( including a Christmas concert presentation of some sort). I am working with them on recognizing notes as I would like to have them possibly play some percussion instruments and such.

However, the area I am really struggling with is SONGS! The resources we have are really old and the songs are very "childish" so the kids really don't want to sing them. I want music class to be fun for them.

Where can I find more modern school-appropriate songs to teach them? Also any modern Christmas concert info?

We have a program here called Music Builders. It goes from kp to 8 It has great songs including Christmas and lesson plans to follow.

we also did a school wide concert using the musical/play Up on the housetop - It incorporated all religions and celebrations as we can no longer have a Christmas concert - It is now called a Winter Festival
