MadLibs as teaching tool
I used MadLibs successfully with a mature kindergartner and have implemented it with K-2. Use any MadLibs story--or make your own--and as students take turns filling in the blanks you call out (i.e. adjective, noun, verb etc) write their choices down on a board or flip chart under an appropriate heading (Nouns: Person Place or Thing; Verbs: Action Word etc) as the more advanced children answer first the students that are struggling a little bit can see previous answers for clues as to how to answer when it is their turn. It is always fun during read back!
