number of students

Just a few questions.

How many students do you serve? How many per period? Do you have an aide?

I was just wanting to know. Thanks!

I'm lucky!

I have 4 classes of 7 students each, and 1 class of 5 students. Each class has at least 2 students with behavior disorders. 3 classes have students with intellectual disabilities. No paras, just me & the kids!

Caseload

On my caseload, there are about 25 kids. (District max is 35.) I serve 28 kids a day (3 on are my colleague's caseload.).

My largest group is 9 kids (WAY too big a group), and my smallest group is 3 kids. (District max per group is 12.) I work with K-5th grades, no para-professional, but I did have a student teacher last semester for two hours a day, which allowed me to eat lunch at a normal time.

I'd love to talk more about scheduling and how you set up your day, especially if you work with the same grade levels I do. I don't get a break during the day, but I have planning in the morning from 7:55 - 8:35, and a late lunch from 1:55 - 2:20. No extra-curricular duties besides being case manager for 25 kids.
