love, love, love
We Share Everything!!! And we change it up a little. I talk to the kids about it and then when we get to the part where it says "In Kindergarten......" We change it and the kids say "In First Grade...."

book
I also read "Leo the Late Bloomer" the first week of school.
|
2 student made books
one written the first day and read on the second called "On the first day of school, I was scared about..." They illustrate and I write from dictation.
The other is "On the first day, I felt good about..." written on the second day of school and read on the third.:p I keep both in the classroom library and they are visited often in the early weeks of school by the students during free reading. I also pull them out to re-read when we get new students as a reminder of being in a new situation. |
Great book
I always read First Grade Stinks......the kids can really relate to this book and they love the title. It really gets them talking about things even before you read the first page.
