Student teacher sick
I had an incident happen earlier today. It was toward the end of the school day, and just finished student teaching the last class of the day. I have been student teaching for 5 weeks now, and have come early and stayed mostly late every M-F, ready to teach and learn from my CT.

After 15 minutes goes by since the last class left the room (specials teacher) Iím sitting down and writing my lesson plans for next week in the classroom, and all of a sudden the next thing I know Iím in the nurseís office. Apparently I had an ďepisodeĒ of saying ďoh wow, it hurts, Iím in painĒ on and on for a minute. My CT freaked out and sent me to the nurse. I donít remember any of this, and the only pain I had after was a headache.

This has happened, now, 3 times. The other two were a month ago, one day and then the next. These occur randomly and with no warning. I went to the quick med clinic right after, where they told me to get an appointment tomorrow to see my regular doc, and a neurology specialist.

So here I am with the reason Iím writing this. My parents and this med clinic doctor today think it is best if I donít drive tomorrow, and go to the doctor ASAP tomorrow to see what is going on. Iím just worried about my attendance. We can miss 3 days overall, but I donít know if the university would believe ďIím sickĒ after that incident and need to miss a day. The only thing Iím worried about is, if itís anything like a month ago, it happened the day after the first time. I donít want this to happen in front of students, or my CT again, so I think I should get it figured out first and go back to school Friday. What are your thoughts?

No question. Follow the doctor's advice. Any university I've worked with would be understanding.

Your health comes first. Period.

And if you don't get checked out you could end up missing a lot more than 3 days.

Health first
You're not blowing off a school day, this was witnessed and you need to see a doctor.

Forget about in front of the kids, what if you WERE driving?
Please keep us updated, and good luck tomorrow!
