Questions

I just need an opinion: -Is this a good question to ask a special education teacher during an interview:
Do you believe it is important for a student to be in the LRE (Least Restricted Environment) or to be in a self contained classroom? (Autistic, ADD) Mild

No special education teacher would get that question wrong. It's the law!

You will get pure opinion in return....we all should understand that would depend entirely upon individual needs. The pendulum is always swinging....

LRE: it depends on individual student's needs

A self-contained classroom just might be the least restrictive environment for this student.

Thank you-- I was just about to say the same thing. It's setting up a false choice.

I always answer that the LRE is based on the needs of each individual student and placement is along a continum based on the I.E.P. You can't miss with that one.
