Art Contest for all Students based on Books by Lee Baker
What if your student's artwork became part of a feature film and the student was named in the credits? This could happen. Paralight Films (www.paralightfilms.com) is sponsoring an art contest based on two books by Lee Baker, author and president of Sandman Studios (www.sandmanstudios.com), a visual effects and animation company that has worked on Race to Witch Mountian, The Game Plan, the t.v. show Pushing Daisies and many other feature films.
The art contest is for all students and there are several categories from kindergarten to university students. You can learn more at www.paralightfilms.com but the basics are:
GRADE CATEGORIES: (1) Elementary K-3, (2) Elementary 4-6, (3) Junior High 7-9, and (4) High School 10-12 (5) University and College

IMPORTANT DATES: Entries will be due before Christmas, 2011 and the winners will be announced on January 9th, 2012.
PRIZES: The winner in each age group will receive a $100 scholarship from PARALIGHT FILMS and the second and third place winners will be recognized on both the www.PARALIGHTFILMS.COM website and on www.LEEBAKERONLINE.COM.
THEME AND ARTISTIC MEDIUMS: The theme of the competition is to create a work of art which conveys your view of the story of either the book SPEED OF LIGHT or HUMBUG, A CHRISTMAS CAROL. The artistic medium can be in any artistic medium that gives a final still work of art, ie: Oils, Sketch, Markers, Acrylic, Digital Art, Photography, 3D Art, etc.
