I went several years ago and thought it was one of the most awesome experiences. Yes I got some great teaching ideas but the major appeal for me was the amazing students and culture that school has....

What do you think?

I have been informed by admin. that children at our elementary school should no longer be seen coloring, cutting, or pasting in the classroom (ever) because those things are not listed in our state...

I agree. From what I understand, it is pretty clear that you need to take up the booklet when the student says they are done.

In Texas, it is manditory that students have so many minutes of exercise a week. We have PE twice a week for 60 minutes and 30 minutes of recess daily.

Hello all,
I was just wondering what the guidelines were for teaching curriculum at your school/district.
I have been at places where everybody in a grade level needs to be teaching the same thing...

Also, it might be helpful to have him only do a few facts at a time and then when those are mastered, give him some more. Sometimes a whole group of facts is too much for the mind to process.

I guess for me it depends. A lot of times I have had to bring them with me- it was much more challenging during those toddler years! Now that they are older, it can be easier. I will never forget...

UTA planetarium is a great place they do a lot for the kids for very little money.

I have 16 of my 22 kiddos ELL in my classroom this year- mostly because our population is so large. As far as TELPAS goes, it is actually easier to get the writing samples because I just assign it...

I have also used those sticker-dots on posterboard for game boards.
