I've had a number of cats. My first one was a beautiful white rescue who would slip out occasionally. It was hit by a car and it appears to have died instantly. He was around 5 years old at the time....

Even though I'm fully vaccinated, I would not feel comfortable with that many people during the ceremony outside, and even less so during the reception indoors. There are still too many unknowns...

pets

I used to have dogs and cats. I also had fish (they were actually DS') and a tarantula. Once they were all gone, I decided against any more pets because of travel.

Good for your DH! Walking is so good for body and mind.

Wow! I hope I can do this when I'm 79! I do 5-10 miles a day as well, but I'm a wee bit younger.

last hired first fired

Same in my old school district. We did have tenure, but it didn't start until our third year.

tough decision

On the one hand I agree that it should be based on population. On the other hand, the viruses are mutating so quickly that we need to stop it from spreading even faster and developing more virulent...

I would love to share in the optimism, but I also know that realistically we are not yet out of the woods. We will see in a few weeks what spring break did in our area.

Zenni eyeglasses

For those of you who got Zenni glasses, how were you able to make sure they fit you? I have always had a hard time trying to make the frames fit. My present pair is the first one in 50+ years that I...

I would take it to the cleaners.

I learned my lesson 20+ years ago, when I tried to hand wash a rayon skirt. I saw it shrink before my eyes.

DH got an unexpected appointment after trying for a week online. It was 100 miles away but he didn't mind. He said his car had been in the garage too long and needed to be driven.
It is now even...

Almost no house is going to be perfect. I'm glad you found something you like.

I do not like light (AKA trashy) romance novels or westerns.

I like sci-fi, but there is a lot of junky sci-fi that is too juvenile and poorly written for my taste. I...
