I am bff with someone I've known for 57 years. I understand the connection and the loss. Be kind to yourself.

Although your current job/district maybe ok, you never know where you'll be in 5 years, 15 years, etc. I also vote for a pseudonym.

I am on my 5th career which happens to be teaching. Just like something of 80% of college students change majors, changing careers is very common!!

Multiple routes

Every state has multiple routes to certification.

With HS math experience, I would look into some alternative routes through your DOE and then apply for jobs.
