We took the peninsula part and added 9 inches

That extra width is perfect for placing stools. Caution: don't order counter height stools like I did. The guys cut off six inches on each stool so they would fit.

Only watched first four shows

Loved it, but yes, it definitely is NOT a network show. If my CBS shows aren't on tonight and hubby is still planting, I might just sneak in a couple more episodes.

Extended time

One reason is for ADHD/ADD students. Focus is an issue, so extended time is given, because it's in their 504 plan. One of my sons even got extended time in a quiet setting when he was in college.

Right now

Pay the fee and renew. I don't think there needs to be anything else done. As a retired teacher, I don't even have to pay the fee!! YAY!!

I love half days

Of course, in my state as a retired teacher I can only work 120 days. And I figure that some money is better than no money. I took early retirement, so my retirement check covers only basic bills....

Not being done right

Our district slowly got into being a 1-1 Chromebook district. Students begin keyboarding in first and second grades. In third grade, they begin using Chromebooks in the classroom. Nobody takes them...

I keep telling people that next year...

...will be my last. I'll turn 65 at the end of the year. But then, I really DO enjoy the kids and the staff at the middle and high schools where I teach. The middle school has tons of new staff, but...

Encore teachers

In our middle school, whenever I sub for PE, computers, health, etc. (Encore classes), I have lunch duty. I find it entertaining. And, yes, loud. But I stop at their tables and visit with them,...

It worked for me

I'd been subbing for years and was approached to be an aide. The money wasn't great, but I was able to get insurance, which was great since hubby is a farmer. Two years later, I was approached to...

I fly every 6-8 weeks

Chicago to Newark and back. I've paid just over $100 and I've paid nearly $300. I only book about three weeks out, though. I try to keep it under $200, but the last two times have been over that....

I'd love to be an aide again

That's how I got my teaching position. Unfortunately, Illinois rules won't let me take an aide's position unless I pay back all my aide retirement that I have received. It's not a lot of money a...

When I was teaching full time, I expected subs to follow my plans, at least mostly follow them. But technology can fail. Students may not understand. I tried to make lessons that kept them busy. If...

Ummm

Saying "shut up" is a big no-no. HUGE! I taught middle school, and those words instantly rile up a classroom. As far as high school. I do as the teacher asks. Yesterday, I had two large freshman...
