We did not have them, but all of our neighbors did.
Jelly jars were made in the shape of a cup and were decorated with Fred Flintstone and other characters. Once they used the jelly, they washed out...

We were raised super healthy......not much sugar.
I found her stash of them ( hidden) as a little kid and remember I'd sneak one every now and then.
They had caramel and later chocolate.

Lonely and stressed

I have done OK w/ the lonely part. Early on, 6 of us decided to make a bubble and keep it tight. We shop online only ( unless there is an emergency.) Then we wear masks, sanitize, go home, wash our...

If it is , color me abnormal! :)

This will be my 1st yr retired, but I feel like New Jersey.
I absolutely love to sleep until I wake up w/out an alarm clock.
I feel 100% rested every summer.
Also, I could not have chosen a better...

Woah! I am so sorry!

I hope you get better soon. Were you able to see a dr? I hope so. Here the drs will not see you.
You call a phone number, get tested at a hospital, and told to go home, quarantine, and ride it out...

OMGoodness!

That is a funny dream, but I do feel like the school district I worked at felt like we were all expendable. So there is a little truth in the humor.
I usually have a back to school nightmare before...

I started the Great Purge

2 years in advance. Many nights, I'd fill both garbage cans w/ stuff I didn't think I'd use again and knew no one else would want. I wanted to do it kind of slick, so they wouldn't think I was going...

I am getting used to the freedom of

retirement. With Covid, it is different than I expected though. I had planned to do things, I can't do now. The best part of the day is waking up w/out an alarm clock, being able to slowly drink a...

I was in the same BC for about 10 yrs.

About 1/2 the time was about the book and half social event. We had some good cooks in that group! Cooking wasn't my strongest suit. :) Our group stayed tight. We only lost a couple of members who...

That sounds so good!

We haven't been able get decent meat where I live for the last couple of months.
I had to throw out 2 packages of meat (after I cooked them) last week. For me to do that, they had to be BAD.
We...

when I saw someone like that, I quickly slipped down another aisle. I have always been aware of my surroundings, so I spot people a mile off. :)

I was planning retirement for the next yr, but I seriously prayed for God to show me if this should be my last year way before Covid started.
I know I am not responsible for Covid...

That is way cool!

I miss the days when you'd check your mailbox for letters. Now I just get bills! ;) There is something about knowing they planned ahead, took the time, and thought of you.
You have an awesome 90 yr...

This is a great place for teachers!

I think I popped on PT in 2014 and was hooked. :) Over the years, I have found some of the most awesome people. Some are very supportive. Others can make you laugh when you need a good chuckle....

If they needed someone to teach online next yr, I'd do it happily.
We are getting ready for a surge of tourists coming in for the summer despite quarantines in place. ( They are not enforced.)
We...

That makes sense. ( Not a strong union)

Sorry! I worked in a right to work state for about 12 years, the district was good to us, but they needed teachers there badly at that time.
Oh, I remember Project Based Learning from over 20 years...

1x, I chose to spend the summer preparing to teach a new subject area. Back in the days before computers. ( My choice, to be prepared) I put together everything I'd need for the 1st 9 weeks of...
