Achievement Tests

My district uses the WRAT-4 as part of its GT identification process. We're wanting to look at other possibilities that might be better/cheaper/etc. Any suggestions?

Reconstruction Novel

Last year, I used the novel Forty Acres and Maybe a Mule with my 5th graders. They really got into it despite my apprehensions. It's become one of my favorites.

Personal Use

I've used it with my son during the summers to keep him reading. You can create your own rewards, which is great. I haven't used it in the classroom, but I'd think it would be just as good as AR.
