Greek and Latin Roots

I would trash the idea of spelling lists and do a more focused study of vocaulary using Greek and Latin Roots. There are several resources out there for the middle level.

Not to be a grammar snob, but I would consider door latch, window latch, or cabinet latches all open compound nouns. They are closely related words describing or clarifying the name of one specific...

Letter of apology

I have my students write a letter of apology to the sub. signed by the student and their parents. I then leave it with the sub. the next time he or she is in the building.
