Oh, and about Kindergarten

...don't even get me started. That's teaching on an exhausting level. Oh my heck! I've definitely been working on upping my Kindergarten game these past few weeks.

Harder: I have to learn all 280 names.
Harder: It's harder to build relationships.
Harder: I don't know the children as well.
Harder: I need to...

We tell time with our phones, ipads, computers, and a clock that automatically sets the time by syncing to the official U.S. atomic clock.

We got up yesterday by our alarms, check the clock to...

Mostly purple gel pens

I buy them 3-12 at a time, and they're at home and at school. I will use another color if it's handy, even red, but my preference is for the purple gel pen.

I've read that too, about red, which...

This is quick and easy

Fry up mild or spicy Italian sausage and stuff into pita pocket halves (like a taco.) Add cheese, lettuce and tomato. My picky eating husband likes it, and its very easy to make.

Well, I made the buckets...

The most classes I see each day would be six, so I made six bright blue milk crates with yellow signs reminding that it's library day. I will drop them off outside the door the night before. ...

I love mine.

I'm on my second one. My husband told me that the first one was broken, and I believed him. I immediately bought a second one, and then it turned out that the first one had just come unlatched on...

There's a similar product

Not pringles, but a similar product, so found in the same section of the store, that uses plastic cans (mostly cylindrical)

Am I wrong?

So, in my new incarnation as teacher-librarian, I had a class come into the library. Because of a September start and being out for the hurricane, this is only my second time seeing the class, and...

While the sub should have

collected and graded papers, and kept a record, she hasn't been paid and won't be paid to do conferences or report cards, and it would be unfair to ask her to do them. I would use the grades she's...

I can well understand

how exhausting this sounds to you. You're a mom of two, one of them 4 months old, and you're not getting enough sleep. School just started, and September is so busy. And now you will need to do...

I've never heard of anything like it before. So it is concerning.

Weird happening

Has this ever happened to you?

My daughter went out to walk the dog last night, and discovered that someone had inserted a single solar light into her lawn. Her husband is inclined to dismiss it,...

I wouldn't fault a parent either way

I can think of good reasons for keeping a child home, and good reasons for keeping them in.

This being 9/11, I remember wondering whether or not I should get my kids out of school and bring them...

Water

If your freezer isn't full, fill up any extra space with bottles of water now. They'll freeze and preserve your food, and if they have time to melt, you can drink the water.

One of the teachers on my team

almost always got the high profile students: the teacher's kid, etc. I was glad. The parent always looking over your shoulder gets old really fast, and you're almost always walking on eggshells.

What about

Have you considered applying for FMLA leave? Or a leave of absence in lieu of resigning?

On the other hand, I would think that under the circumstances, there would be no difficulty with...

My experience

I think it takes longer to "total" a car than it does to arrange to have it fixed. Meanwhile, be looking for the title. You'll need that.

My daughter had her car sideswiped, in the shop, and...

So they can't fail?

I think would have a problem with that. I might either have to send the test home as a study guide and make them retake the test, or make them correct their errors for half credit.
