this is not the complication you needed right now. I hope it gets resolved fast so you can be with your SO. Hope the testing goes well and they can resolve what is causing his strokes.

Our daughter

brought her two nearly year old kittens to visit us this summer. One of them was bound and determined to get behind the washer. He did it twice. We just pulled out the washer, and helped him out. ...

A teacher's assistant might be assigned to service some students with disabilities if they were in your class. They would be there for certain times and certain subjects, depending on the IEP...

Oh my. I took off the day and the day after, but I really could have gone to work. No pain during or after surgery.

For me, I was given a prescription for two or three different eye drops, which...

If you're not ready to commit

I don't know exactly what you'd say, but I do have an opinion on the timing. If you're not willing to accept his engagement ring, don't let him get to the stage of a proposal. Head him off before...

I was in the hospital lab

today, getting blood drawn. There was a teenage girl there almost bragging that she was 35 assignments behind. She hasn't turned in one assignment.
School's only been open for two weeks (and a...

Congratulations

You're creating a classroom with "windows and doors" and "mirrors" to allow your students to experience seeing themselves in a book, and experience other cultures and people too!

Yes, they can all "annotate" on the screen

I haven't figured out exactly how to do it yet (I haven't had time to try!) But many of them already know how to scribble on the screen while I'm projecting. You can enable and disable annotation,...

So, I had to turn a camera off

because the student was having a knock-down, drag out fist fight with another person at her house, while two adults stood around and watched. (Thankfully she was muted.)

The way Zoom is set up...

My husband told me before we were married that he would be sleeping on the (right?) side of the bed. (To my left when we're in bed.) I didn't really care, so I've been sleeping on the other side...

Zoom edition: Things you've said!

Things I never thought I'd have to say: (Zoom edition)

"R, stop jumping on your bed and come sit down."
"Whoever is drawing all over my screen, stop it now!"

Things I'm glad parents said:

In our family, we use a washable basin (such as you might be given in a hospital), the contents of which then gets flushed down the toilet and the basin rinsed temporarily, then cleaned thoroughly...

Well,

I've been hearing this a lot lately: "Content before cute." I think that's an important thing to know, and something I've always believed in.

(That's not to say that things shouldn't be...

But I have a daughter who does, as well as daughters who play the cello and the bass.

My suggestion would be to find someone who can/will tape your violin accurately. Tapes are good for...
