What can we do?

I would be asking for "parent volunteers"
for any reason you can think up, an art project, career day, science project, etc.
Let a few parents witness this crap and you should get some action.
Also, review your school and district...

I think mammograms are highly overrated
Last year, I had a "suspicious" mammo. I had walked in, told them that they would see something on the right breast, where I had had a breast infection while breastfeeding decades ago, but that it...

Am I wrong? Why do I feel (a little) guilty?

I always love having houseguests
and staying at other people's homes. But that is not for everyone.
If you don't feel comfortable doing it or it is inconvenient or expensive, you shouldn't feel guilty or obligated.
I have...

Looking forward to going to L.A.
on Tuesday, but not looking forward to traveling sick, which I may have to if I cannot knock out this cold by then. No chance of changing my flight, because I am flying out of a tiny airport in...

I would just tell her you will keep
her updated as significant milestones are reached, e.g., first kiss, when you decide to go steady, when you meet his children (or parents, if they are still alive), whether you ever go out of town...

She would not be the first parent
who chose to lie about her child rather than deal with the truth.
What a creepy mom. Sorry you had to listen to her lies.

Thanks, everyone!
I dragged myself to Walgreen's to get supplies. It is a new Walgreen's, just opened here in the past month. I had not been in a Walgreen's in at least three years.
When I entered my OLD phone...

Today’s DIY sob story

So far it looks great! I am always impressed
with people who can DIY. I cannot.
Meanwhile, my bathroom remodel has officially entered its fourth month. And I am completely at the mercy of the idiot contractor I hired, who claims it is "70%...

Need your amazing cures for a cold.
I have been fighting it off for two days, but it hit today. Leaving for California Tuesday morning. Just what I needed.
I bought fresh pineapple juice, lemons for hot tea and maple syrup or...

Yes, difficult in some ways because I miss
my children, but glad to be around my SO's family. Just thinking that we are suddenly those old people who come to the holiday dinners. Finally get to sit at the adult table, but thinking the kids'...

At Zumba class this morning, one
of the women's fitbit thingies showed that she had 5,800 steps in 54 minutes. Another women's said she had 4,300 steps in the same amount of time.
I don't wear one of those things and never will,...

Sounds like a perfectly normal kid to me.
He does not need to "work on fine motor skills." That is a developmental issue. When he is ready, he will do it. Don't push him and don't let the teachers push him. My son refused to tie shoes,...

Sorry you are not feeling well.
Migraines can be hellish. I had them regularly until I was 37, then not at all after my first pregnancy until about age 60. Then they returned, but very infrequent these days. What do you take...

I believe this is how all royalty works!
The concept is that they are ruling by Divine Right, i.e., God chose them. As long as the British are enamored of the romance of royalty, so it goes.
Add to that all the ridiculous inbreeding...
