Questions

He’s had basic service dog training but we haven’t done too much specialized training. Swift just instinctively started trying to help de-escalate DS on his own and we trained him based on that.

Swift is the Best Puppy

Bath time tonight with DS was…bad. His toenails were long overdue for trimming so I started trimming his toenails. DS HATES nail trimming. He will tolerate his fingernails, but his toenails… :(

Paramount+

We watch a lot of CBS shows so it’s definitely worth it for us. But we cut our satellite television after not using it (at all) for almost a year. So we’re not watching CBS shows on CBS…if that makes...

Sick box

Sounds like the time I got sick of asking DH to pick up his socks. So I stopped asking and just picked them up when I saw them, put them in a box, and waited for him to ask where all his socks had...

Sitting with her

Have you tried sitting with her until she falls asleep?

We did it with DS. No talking. No eye contact. No interaction. We were just there, not there to play. Then we slowly moved closer and closer...

ShaSha Sauce

Michael Symon makes a ShaSha sauce and it is SO GOOD…at least I love it. I’ve had it many times at his B*Spot restaurant. His recipe calls for hot banana peppers but you could easily substitute sweet...

No, just around his eyes….and everywhere else. <!--misspeak-->

Swift is currently pouting that he had to get a bath and the fact that his ordeal didn’t earn him a second dinner.

This child….

I. Cannot. With. This. Child.

I was picking things up in the living room. DH was taking a nap. I looked over to see DS shaking his arm…you know, like you do when you’re trying to empty a container...

Anxiety

My son was 4 (almost 5) when I realized it was going to be an issue. We were at the beach and he refused to leave the condo…even to go to the beach! He’d had a wonderful time in the years prior.

Merry Christmas!

DS’s school was invited to a very special place today. Not far from us is a man that created a park on his property (94 acres, I believe) where terminally ill children can experience Christmas at any...

Oh Swift, you derpy dog

So. First, toads are poisonous. Well, they secret a toxin from their skin for protection (I had forgotten that). He doesn’t eat them, he “plays” with them. He loves when they hop. To encourage them...

And the dog makes it a circus…

Y’all….

My child’s reign of terror continues into day two. But the canine…THE CANINE…

Dude, you’re killing me.

He found a cricket in the garage when I let him out. He couldn’t...

I had something similar and this stuff was awesome. Cleared it up significantly in a day or so. The Cortisone 10 Psoriasis also helped.

Cheap apples are my jam!

I grew up on an apple orchard so I’m a self-proclaimed apple snob. We had peaches, too. There are 6-8 orchards within 15 minutes or so from me here and near DS’s school where we used to...

Sounds familiar

Sounds like why I refuse to buy apples from the grocery store. Grocery store apples taste like the grocery store.

I much prefer local orchards (but I know not everyone has access to those). AND...

Thank you

Thank you all for the reassurance. He was as happy as a clam when we got home (and I fed him) except when he said and signed “No!” when I told him it was time for bath.

It sounds like...

This afternoon is DS’s open house for his school.

This morning, he woke up anxious. Its hard to describe to someone who doesn’t know him, but as his mom, he was clearly anxious. He got better as...

LOVE it.

However, there is a fine line between enough cilantro and too much cilantro….I have crossed that line exactly once. LOL
