One of the keys to Zoom is everyone HAS to mute. Only one person can speak at a time. If more than one person is muted, you run the risk of feedback and background noise.

The students have a 30...

I agree!

I cried when I was moved to 2nd grade. However, I am continually amazed by the capacity of a second grader to learn! Now I love second grade and I hope your daughter will too!

I, too, can be bothered by noises at times. I realized that my asking kids to stop was making even more noise. I videotaped my class and listened to the recording and I realized how much noise I...

We did it after school hours just to see where the dead hallways were. No kids were in the building. I was extremely useful as we learned a lot. We would have never involved students. Yikes.

Our elementary, middle and high school hours are:
7:30-2:30 for students
7:15-2:45 for teachera

It sickens me that the school board does not value teacher planning time.

We still allow food for parties and birthday treats. If we ever went to a non-food school, I would do an extra recess or ask a parent to donate a recess toy (frisbee, football, tennis balls...).
