great read alouds

You can't go wrong with either of these as read alouds:

Snow Treasure
Twenty and Ten

Both deal with children in war areas - Norway and France.

I used Dies Drear with my 7th graders and they liked it a lot. For lower grades you might consider The Egypt Game, Something Upstairs, or Who Stole the Wizard of Oz. All are great.

Asia or Europe?
