Mid Year Hiring

In my district long term subs fill jobs that open mid year. You could call HR in the school systems and ask if they hire teachers in the middle of the school year.

My Day

When to Retire

It sounds like you are not ready to retire. I knew when it was time, and I had no doubts whatsoever. I am happier now than I have ever been and have never second guessed my decision to stop working.

I've never heard about a tutor observing a student and wouldn't like it very much.

Instead of the tutor coming in, email a few paragraphs about the child's academic performance to that person.
