I'd love to read a post from Angelo right about now.

I understand your worry, jazzer

I would be too, and I am 35. I wanted to tell you that a job opportunity outside of teaching presented itself because I had volunteered there for many years. This is more of a long-term solution, but...

I feel the need to clarify

So... being positive is not a bad thing. Neither is admitting you are struggling.

Perhaps that's what I was trying to say but I'm not sure why I deserved to be scolded.

I'll never know what...

Thanks everyone

I worry about appearing as though I don't care but hopefully it comes across positively in my interactions even if I don't do over the top fancy things. I appreciate you taking the time to help me.

That's odd they won't deliver

Around here they're begging people to order out especially for local businesses. I would think they'd welcome business!

Reminder

I know sometimes text comes across the way we don't mean to but let's try to use kind words. I don't want to be on here worried that someone is going to slap my hand.

That being said if I ever...

Sigh

It's my insecurities talking but a parent sent us music teachers a picture of her kids practicing piano so I wrote back and said give them a hug for us and I love the picture (meeting was in 5...

Cereal

I've discovered Cascadian Farms and their cereals are so good.

Something I have to say

I'm not necessarily just talking about myself, I mean in general I wish it was okay for people to be more authentic. I suppose some will be and some won't.

One of the suck-ups at our school

He's actually really mean and stuck up towards a lot of people but sucks up to our principal. At the meeting today he said in his Eddie Haskell voice " I REALLY want to connect with my kids."

I...

I totally get what you mean. Even if I'm not a fan of somebody obsessively talking about it is so unhealthy.

Negativity all the time

Isn't good and I think it's good to point it out to people who are negative all the time (and hopefully they listen and if they don't not much we can do).

I do believe in toxic positivity though.

Positivity

Everybody's big into a positive mindset. I understand, it's a healthy alternative. But I just wish I was allowed to express things that are concerning me about this challenging time that pretty much...

Problem is

Kids and parents won't adhere to keeping a safe distance. Many won't. I'd do your research especially if the governor doesn't want kids going into school buildings. I wonder if they are breaking a...

Thank you

They have something like that in my state. I talk to my therapist and he's pretty good but they might be more help for job specific stuff.

Someone I know insists on seeing her parents

Her parents are in their 60s and she's starting to wonder what's the point of staying away from them if younger people are catching the virus as well. I would say this person is on acquaintance level...

Any other states?

Are any other states closed for the year? MD is not but VA (where I teach) is. People are having a lot of opinions I'm not sure what to think.

Not really a vent but maybe I'm just in a venting...

I think your concerns are valid. You have already resigned from your position right?

I'm trying to think of something that could be helpful to tell you. It's possible they might change the format...

Teachers and social media

There's been posts on here about this but I'm "joining the club." I'm feeling guilty because I had shared on Facebook that schools are closed but I didn't share any feelings about it. "Virginia...

I agree

Honestly there were some downright unsafe situations and admin would just shrug their shoulders. Someone reached out to me to say I must be heartbroken about this and I feel guilty because I don't.
