I teach ELA for one hour for second graders. I usually have 3 activities and 3 transitions per period with them. I also let them work with partners often. I only talk for a few minutes at time.

Thanks for letting me vent. I really don't dislike this student. It's hard to find ways to make him succeed without having the benefit of an aide or sped teacher. Sorry if I came off overly harsh....

If he wasn't on his meds, the shouting out and non-compliance was terrible. If he was on the meds, then he would barely work....

I would probably take the first one if the administration seemed supportive of teachers. I find the principal makes or breaks an urban school in my experience.


Lower income kids tend work well...
