My latest quilting project.

Not sure if it is a lap quilt or wall hanging, 42"x52". This is a Christmas gift for the lady who is fostering my 21-year-old cat in CA. She bakes and does catering for a living.

bill for the 2020 finale!

I just paid that much for my new roof and porch. I feel your pain! :(

I have a huge cedar chest in my bedroom.

Even though I have two closets in my bedroom, one of which include floor to ceiling shelves, and two dressers, I still have to put stuff away for the seasons. I use the living room closet just for...

Oh, my! He sounds like a winner!

How did you figure out it was not a match personality wise? Had you not discussed beliefs before agreeing to meet? What was your first clue (besides the outfit). Maybe he just didn't want you to...

You must be so excited!

I am thrilled for you. And extra happy that your DD is going home to live with you and attend college. You will have a very busy winter, but I am sure you would not have it any other way.

It seems I have been sewing my entire life.

I remember my grandmother and mom taught me to thread a needle and used to give me scraps to handsew into doll clothes.

I took the obligatory home ec class in junior high. After that, I made a...

anna - my quilter friend's husband is

a master carpenter. So far, he has built me an open wardrobe for the bedroom where I had to take the closet to expand the bedroom, an over-the-toilet shelving unit that goes to the ceiling, a...

amiga13 - I just decided to have as many

colors as possible. I have always been inspired by color. Neighborhoods in Vancouver, B.C. and also New Mexico. And a lot of wood. I wonder if there is a word for people addicted to colors?

amiga13, If by "Fun," you mean I am quickly

accumulating too much stuff, my house is a barrel of laughs.

When I left CA, I downsized a house I had lived in for 23 years to a 5x8 storage unit. Eventually emptied the storage and most of that...

New Tea Shelf

I found the perfect addition to my tea shelf at a garage sale. I bought the one on the left, and it fit EXACTLY into the space next to the one that is already full!

Love those kinds of...

Uh, no! I am 70, born in 1950.

That's kind of hard to forget, but 1950 makes it very simple.

I am forever astonished when people do not know the birth and death dates of their parents or family members. I know my mom's and...

I am a talker, so if the repair person is a

talker, I usually end up chatting with them. I have had quite a few people through here in the past year for my bathroom, roof, porch, and other miscellaneous issues.

The contractor's wife was...

12 yards of fabric (six different pieces) new and great for quilting, all for $30!

Took a little box of random stuff from my grandmother's jewelry box, stray earrings, chains, rings, charms, pins,...

Took a road trip with a friend the

other day. Love the scenery, especially in fall! Took this from a moving vehicle, so it almost looks like a painting.

I plan to vote early (Oct. 24th, my mom's

birthday) and do not anticipate long lines in my rural area.

If there happen to be a lot of folks in line, I will wear a mask and social distance.

I am LOVING the early voter turnouts, over 17...

Are you teaching in person?

There used to be a book that taught kids to tie shoes. It actually had shoe laces attached, each one a different color, to show the kid how to do it, and they could practice alone. Maybe get...

If I figured it out (after my son bought it

and set it up and showed me how), then anyone can. Why not get rid of Spectrum completely. HULU is cheaper and you can still get the local stations. I do use their Internet, but no choices.

I just got rid of a bunch of them.

They were in a cupboard where my sweetie had stored different types of flour WITHOUT ZIPLOCKS. (Yes, he was in trouble.) Then they had migrated to the next cupboard and were in crackers, cookies,...

Are you sure you do not live in New York?

Where the banks all still operate as if it were the 1980s.

Don't even get me started on all the garbage my aunt's bank put me through when I was helping her manager her money before she passed...

That is an apt description.

I actually had a personal year like 2020 - 1993. But sans pandemic and unpredicted and unpredictable political and cultural scenes. This is what people mean when they say, "critical mass." I had...
